Deserted House, genuine horror to square off with school horror flicks

Seoul, Korea – The Korean horror film Deserted House is the only old-school horror film to open this summer, drawing attention amid the myriad of horror films based around events in schools.

Ghost(Gwi – С) opened on June 10 and Sorority Row, on June 23. The soon-to-open Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp will join the deluge of school horror flicks this summer.

Deserted House is not set in a school or university or college, but at an old abandoned house that has long been the subject of local horror.

The horror flick was filmed at an actual deserted house in an undisclosed location in Gyeonggi Province, and inasmuch as the set realistically conveys a horrific atmosphere, moviegoers can look forward to a pretty scary cinematic experience.

The producers ransacked the entire peninsula for a satisfactory setting for more than two months before finding the perfect location. The abandoned house feels almost claustrophobic, with obstructions in all directions like a prison block, giving off a creepy vibe, even in broad daylight.

Deserted House is currently in post-production and will open on August 19.
