Seoul, Korea – Anmyeon Island’s natural forest lodge, run by South Chungcheong province (district of Anmyeong township Seung-eon village), is becoming popular as a weekend spot.

According to statistics, Anmyeon Island’s natural forest lodge has had 218,894 visitors as of July.

Although compared to the 480,000 or so visitors that came last year, due to the Anmyeon Island International Flower Show, is not a small number, it should be taken into account that many of the visitors went in free of admission charges so, excluding that number, the number of visitors who have paid admission fees has risen 17.6%, up to 160,155 from 136,187 visitors.

Due to the recent trend in well-being, natural lodges have been rising in popularity and during vacation days from July to August, the accommodation rates showed 100% and even in the off-season, accommodation rates were at 70-80% per month.

It has been analyzed by the staff of the lodge that, because of its comfortable transport conditions that includes the west coast highway and the Daejeon-Dangjinkang expressway, mixed in with basic infrastructure such as beautiful in-your-face view of nature, this lodge is much better than other lodges.

Aside from this, in the vicinity of Amyeon Island natural forest lodge are 10 beach resorts, such as KKokji beach, Bangpo flower bridge, granny and granpa rock, a colony of goldenrain trees, fishing and other activities abound.

A representative of south Chungcheong province said “We plan to make this forest, filled with 100-200 year old Amyeon island pine trees, into a masterful forest, develop infrastructure and parking spaces, add rock, camellia and other types of paths to make a systematic vacation lodge so that it will be a constant resting spot for consumers.”
