On August 27, the Korean Mint released the 31st edition in its series of medals depicting renowned Koreans


Seoul, Korea – On the 27th of August, the Korea Mint Corporation released the 31st edition in its series of medals depicting renowned Koreans. The series commemorates the 100 most influential people in Korean economics, society, history, politics, and culture.

The medals in this release bear images of Ahn Ik Tae, the world-renowned composer of the Korean national anthem, and Seo Sung Hwan, a pioneer of Korea¡¯s cosmetic industry.

This series of medals was especially planned to educate young students. The 100 figures to be depicted were selected over a period of four years, and the series is being issued in 50 editions with one pair of medals released each month. The total number of medals is limited to 10,000 units, raising their value.

These medals can be purchased on the Korea Mint Corporation¡¯s website on a first-come first-served basis. The website also gives away 20 of the medals every month through various events.
