Exempt from military service in 2004 because of schizophrenia…renew investigation per request from Military Manpower Association

On the 26th, the Seoul Suseo Police Department announced “With the recent events of Yeonpyung Island being attacked by North Korea, the allegations of Park Hae Jin’s evasion has been increasing, so we are renewing the investigation as per the request of the Military Manpower Association”.

Earlier, the police concluded an investigation last month regarding Park Hae Jin’s exemption due to symptoms of schizophrenia due to the statute of limitations running out on them during an internal investigation.

Park Hae Jin will not be prosecuted even if he is found to have evaded military service because the statute of limitations has already passed.

However, chances are high that if his evasion is proven, he will have to enter active duty as he is under 30 years of age.

The police plan to focus their investigation on whether or not Park Hae Jin received forged documents regarding his symptoms of schizophrenia.
