Movie ¡®Yeoido¡¯ gains attention for its theme sympathized by office workers

Seoul, Korea – The psychological thriller Yeoido, a movie which office workers sympathize with, will open in December as a much anticipated project.

Yeoido tells the story of stockbroker ¡®Woo Jin¡¯ (Kim Tae Woo), who is under pressure to submit a list of people who need to be fired while he is in danger of being fired himself, all the while being responsible for debt and his family, prompting many office workers to sympathize with his situation.

It deals with surviving in an environment dealing with social issues such as infinite competition and success-oriented life.

Korea¡¯s labor hours are 1.3 times as much of any country registered with the OECD and in a recent survey of 917 office workers by Job Korea regarding ¡®employee fatigue¡¯, 87.8% remarked that they have experienced ¡®work-related psychological and physical ailments due to stress¡¯. Also, the main reason for this stress was ¡®too much work¡¯ (34.5%).

Providing viewers with a realistic, fresh view of these struggles with these class levels, Yeoido is set to open on December 2nd.
