Seoul, Korea – [Reporter HaengRae Seo, JTN News] The Naksudae Waterfall is found halfway up Mt. Taegi, in Gangwon province Hwaengsung-gun, home of the 태기궁 legend.

The Naksudae is a naturally occurring waterfall with cold and clear water that falls about 10 meters. The fall had been greater than 10 meters, but due to sediments from erosion, it is much shallower.

The fall’s headwater is found at the top of Mt. Taegi, watershed to Pyeongchang-gun. The waters had once been habitat to yeolmok , a type of rare lenok salmon, but has gone extinct.

There is an unmarked grave at the Naksu Rock Buddhist Temple grounds nearby the waterfall. Legend has it that each year, good luck finds the person who takes care of the grass and around the grave.
