Into the fire holds the top spot at the box office


Seoul, Korea – The hottest new blockbuster war movie Into the fire (produced by Lee Jae Han) got off to a smooth start with more than 110,000 tickets sold on its first day.

According to Korean Film Council¡¯s statistics released on the 17th, Into the fire attracted an audience of 114,131 people on its first day, the 16th, taking the top spot at the box office.

Including audiences for paid previews held on the 12th and 13th, this gives Into the fire total attendance of 249,223. Thus, Into the fire surpassed The Servant (produced by Kim Dae Woo), which held the number one position at the box office for two weeks.

Since this occurred during the 2010 South Africa World Cup, when every Korean is focused on the games, people involved with the movie say that this success is worthy of close attention. The release date of Into the fire was moved up by one day in consideration of Korea¡¯s match against Argentina.
