Seoul City test runs electric bus

Seoul, Korea – June 24, Seoul City announced official operation of 15 electricity-run buses starting this Autumn following the completion of its electric-bus joint development which began last year.

The electric buses have completed test runs at the factory, and have been undergoing trial runs on the Namsan circuit route since the 21st this month.

Once the 2-week trials are done, the buses will undergo a safety inspection before becoming officially registered as electric buses and gradually replacing the existing buses

The new buses rely only on electricity as a source of energy, without any exhaust or carbon footprint. Dust and exhaust gas from burning diesel in the conventional buses are no longer here, and neither is green house emission caused by carbon dioxide in the past. The buses have drawn attention as an ecofriendly alternative in future mass-transport.

Hot exhaust and heat, combustible fuel present in CNG (compressed natural gas) buses are no longer an issue for electric buses, making the roads roadsides a more pleasant place.
