Original webtune by Won Soo Yeon… “Felt the bubbly character’s personality”

Seoul, Korea – Actress Moon Geun Young, who is in the midst of a busy schedule with her work on ‘Cinderella’s Sister’ on the screen and as Alice in the stage play Closer, has chosen the upcoming drama Mary’s Out as her next project.

On the 13th, a representative of the broadcasting company confirmed that Moon had been cast in the new KBS-2TV Mon/Tue miniseries Mary’s Out. Jang Geun Suk has been cast alongside with her, already drawing interest to their on-screen chemistry.

Mary’s Out is based on a web-tune of the same name by Won Su Yeon, the writer of ‘Full House’. It tells of the main character ‘Wi Mary’ who lives out two separate marriages, one with a hippy lead-singer of a band ‘Kang Moo Kyul’ and the perfect man ‘Jeong In’, learning about real love and herself.

Scripted by Ihn Euna, who also scripted Goong and Love Marriage, the show is set to deal with the this generation’s views on relationships and marriage.

This will be the first time Moon Geun Young, who portrays Wi Mary, and Jang Geun Sul, who plays the outgoing Kang Moo Kyul, will work together portraying a couple.

Moon Geun Young expressed through her management company that “The reason why I took the part is because the story and set-up was impressive, and the characters were bubbly, fun and appealing. The concept of fake marriages like Mary’s situation has not been dealt with before and I feel pressure yet at the same time really anxious and excited to see how we can express these feelings.”

Mary’s Out is scheduled to air as the successor to Sunggyunkwan Scandal.
